Meet the Author

Patty Palmer taught elementary school art in Goleta, California, for twelve years before trading in her paint-splattered apron to help teachers teach art to kids. Through her website, Patty offers insight into what it’s like to teach art inside a classroom through video tutorials, lesson plans, and art resources. Her membership site, the Sparklers Members Club, a community of over three thousand teachers, is dedicated to providing art lesson bundles, curriculums, and teaching resources for art teachers. Every summer, Patty and Team Sparkle host a sold-out art workshop for teachers in Goleta, California.

Before teaching art, Patty’s early years were spent drawing and painting in her farmhouse bedroom in Prince Edward Island, dreaming of ways she could spend her life creating art.

She lives in Santa Barbara with her husband and business partner, Neil. Together they have three kids, Newt, Tate, and Elliott, who are on their way to creating their own amazing lives.
